Lots of festivities in Carrbridge over last weekend with the celebration of the famous Carr Bridge reaching a magnificent 300 years old. It is such an iconic structure that was almost washed away in the great flood of 1829, the Muckle Spate.
We could actually do with some rain at the moment as May has been hot and dry and the river levels are low - not so good for the fishermen, but the local children have been keeping cool by jumping off the old bridge into the river! We have now added a BBQ to the Apartment as well as the bike store so it's all set for summer. The trees and plants are now in bloom and we have a family of Crested Tit in the woods opposite, so it feels like winter is firmly behind us. |
